OCEAN PLAZAPhu Quoc, Vietnam - 2019Our beach club design combines a restaurant and craft beer hall that physically steps like a wave set, whilst simultaneously connecting with the proposed seaside square. The organic interior and overall wave form gives rise to a sleek section that retains the sea views of the existing hotel rooms behind. The open roof terrace invites the public up from the adjacent square to enjoy the panoramic beach and ocean views, acting as an extension to the plaza. Our alternative option was inspired by the dynamic forms of ocean life with the undulating roof controlling daylight giving rise to the feeling of being under the water’s surface.
