OASIS BEACH FACILITIESHa Long City, Vietnam 2019Our aim was to create a sheltered destination for visitors, creating an ‘oasis’ to rest, play and relax in the shade. The roof in essence, forms a man made tree canopy that steps at roof level giving rise to a series of varied covered external spaces below, whilst also forming usable spaces on the roof itself. The hexagon form of the trees link up like a honeycomb to provide additional structural strength and efficiency with minimal disruption to the open and interconnecting floor space below. The modular structure provides flexibility enabling the design to adapt to the 2 separate sites. The functions of each include a restaurant, café, bar/ beach club, pool, multipurpose event space and public beach shower facilities. |
