NKA ARTS VILLAGEAshanti, Ghana 2010The Arts Village as a whole combines to form a large scale piece of land art. The master plan layout was partially inspired by the Adinkra Symbol for ‘creativity & wisdom’. The circular plan encourages a sense of unity between the varying elements, fostering a sense of community. Each structure is partially sunken to aid with natural cooling, whilst the excavated material is used to construct the rammed earth walls, capped off with locally sourced thatch for roofing. |
